Life beyond substances
Activities & Adventure in Rehab | Foundations Bali
Addiction can make life smaller. Interests disappear, confidence drops and the substance becomes the main source of relief, reward or excitement. Recovery involves opening life back up again.
Activities at Foundations sit alongside counselling, group work and recovery education. They give you supported opportunities to move, connect, try something new and experience ordinary enjoyment without substances.
01
Enjoyment begins during treatment
You do not have to wait until rehab is over to discover that life without substances can still feel full.
02
Every experience has a purpose
Movement, nature and new experiences help rebuild confidence, connection and the brain’s sense of healthy reward.
03
The pace is shaped around you
Activities are chosen around health, confidence, interests, weather and what will be useful for the small group.
Out in Bali
A wider world to come back to
Weekends create more room to leave the residence and experience the island. A day might involve learning to surf, cycling through rice fields, walking to a waterfall, visiting a temple or sharing lunch somewhere new.
The point is not to fill every hour. It is to practise being present, build healthy reward and gather real evidence that life in recovery can contain adventure, laughter and connection.
- Beginner-friendly surfing
- Cycling through Bali
- Temple and cultural visits
- Waterfalls and hiking
- Beach walks and swimming
- Occasional days out and shared meals
At and around the residence
Movement that meets you where you are
The weekly rhythm can include yoga, boxing, gym sessions, breathwork, meditation, massage and creative work. Some days call for energy. Others call for gentler movement or proper rest.
You do not need to arrive fit, experienced or fearless. Everything is adapted to your health and starting point, with encouragement that builds confidence without turning recovery into a performance.
- Yoga, meditation and breathwork
- Massage and physical recovery
- Garden movement and mobility
- Boxing and gym sessions
- Art therapy and creative time
- Space to rest when your body needs it
A structured programme
Adventure supports the treatment. It does not replace it.
Weekdays remain grounded in individual counselling, group work, addiction education and practical recovery tools. Activities are woven into that programme thoughtfully, with more time for exploring Bali at weekends. The exact schedule changes with clinical needs, appointments, weather and the people in the group.
