Anxiety and depression are treatable
You do not have to wait until things become unbearable
Anxiety and depression can gradually change the shape of your life. You may still be working, looking after other people or appearing fine from the outside, while privately using most of your energy simply to get through the day. Residential treatment gives you protected time away from the pressure to keep functioning. At Foundations, care is built around you, with professional support, restorative routines and space to understand what has been keeping you stuck.
When support could help
It may be time for a different level of care
There is no single way anxiety or depression looks. What matters is how much it is affecting your wellbeing and your ability to live the life you want.
01
Anxiety is taking over
Persistent worry, dread, panic or physical tension makes it difficult to rest, concentrate or feel safe in everyday life.
02
Life feels flat or heavy
Low mood, numbness, hopelessness or a loss of interest has made it harder to connect with people or imagine things improving.
03
You are struggling to function
Sleep, appetite, motivation, work, relationships or basic responsibilities are becoming increasingly difficult to manage.
04
What you have tried is not enough
You may have pushed through, taken time off or tried treatment before, but still feel stuck in the same cycle.
Personalised residential treatment
Care shaped around what you are experiencing
Treatment begins with listening. Your programme is shaped around your symptoms, circumstances and goals, rather than applying the same plan to everyone.
01
A proper understanding of what is happening
We take time to understand your symptoms, history, health, relationships, pressures and what you need from treatment.
02
Individual counselling
Private sessions help you explore patterns, build practical coping tools and work on the concerns affecting your daily life.
03
Psychiatric input where appropriate
A psychiatrist is available when assessment, diagnosis or medication review forms a useful part of your care.
04
Tools you can use beyond treatment
CBT-based work, emotional regulation, sleep support, movement and practical planning help you build steadier ways to respond.
Why residential care?
Space to focus fully on getting well
Sometimes weekly appointments are not enough when the rest of life continues to demand everything from you. A residential setting creates consistency, support and enough distance to work on what is happening without returning to the same pressures each evening.
If substances have become a way to cope
You can talk about the whole picture without being defined by it
Some people use alcohol, medication or other substances to sleep, quieten anxious thoughts, feel more confident or escape a low mood. If that is part of your experience, we can address it alongside anxiety or depression. It does not have to become the label for everything you are going through.
Common questions
Clear answers before you decide
Do I need to have a substance problem to come to Foundations?
No. Foundations can support people whose primary concerns are anxiety and depression. We will talk openly about your full situation during assessment so we can confirm whether the programme is the right fit.
What if I use alcohol or drugs to cope?
You can still speak to us about anxiety and depression. Some people use alcohol, medication or other substances to sleep, switch off or manage difficult feelings. If that is part of your experience, it can be addressed alongside your mental health without defining the whole reason you are seeking help.
Can Foundations diagnose anxiety or depression?
Formal diagnosis should be completed by an appropriately qualified clinician. Psychiatric input can be arranged where assessment or diagnosis is needed.
Is Foundations suitable for a mental health crisis?
Foundations is a residential treatment programme, not an emergency or acute psychiatric service. If you may harm yourself, cannot stay safe or are experiencing an immediate crisis, contact local emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department.
Private and confidential
Tell us what has been happening
You do not need to know exactly what kind of treatment you need. Start with a confidential conversation and we will help you understand whether Foundations may be right for you.
